Daanish Meeran, Mechanical Design Engineer, joined KZN IEETR in February 2019 as a Mechanical Engineer. Prior to working at DUT he worked in the manufacturing sector. He currently holds the following qualifications:
• National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering
• BTech: Mechanical Engineering
• Diploma: Advanced Project Management
He has major involvement, in the manufacturing industry, in unique project design and build of projects such as Cable Reel Roller, Cable Jack, Heavy Duty Tool Rack, Truck Bin Tool Structure, etc. Since joining KZN IEETR he has been part of various major solar designs and installations such as 110KW Grid-Tied System, etc. He has project managed and designed three unique designs (Magnetic Wind Turbine, Energy Cycle, Portable Geyser, etc.). Daanish Meeran is the head Mechanical Engineering Designer of the SiyaHamba Solar Boat which will partake in the Monaco Solar Boat Challenge, the first South African side do so.
