A biomass pellet stove was designed, developed and tested together with the client at our IEETR centre. This innovative “Biomass Pellet Stove” uses the waste heat for electricity generation at very small scale.
The developed system based on the proposed design uses wood pellets of waste biomass to generate heat for cooking and water heating applications. Typically, an ignition element lights the pellets as needed, while wood pellets are fed to the burner in measured doses via an auger connected to an attached hopper or adjacent storage bin.
These systems are convenient enough to be a logical alternative to fossil fuel fired boilers. After successful testing, the product was encouraged for commercialising.
