The Energy Training Centre has a mandate to focus on SMEs and job creation in particular. Training in the fields of Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaics will focus on installation and maintenance at an NQF level 2 and 4 respectively. In the case of the Building Energy Audit & Training Programme (BEAT) course, a higher educational level (NQF 5) will be required.
The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Solar Thermal courses will equip participants with the necessary training to design, install and maintain such systems, enabling them to enter the job market with the appropriate skills as well as with the possibility of becoming an entrepreneur. System commissioning will, however, require an appropriately certified electrician and/or plumber. Trainees will benefit from attending our courses in various ways, namely contact or online.
We also aim to include latest regulations and latest technology trends within our course material. Our Energy Training centre is an accredited Energy and Water SETA (EWSETA) training provider and courses carry CPD credits for ECSA requirements. Trainees also receive a Durban University of Technology certificate for attending their chosen course.
